Pianist concertiste internationale

First Prize winner of the Alberto Ginastera International Piano Competition, Anaïs Crestin is a French pianist whose journey between Europe and Argentina has shaped a career open to dialogue between cultures and repertoires.

About

An artist at the crossroads of performance, teaching and musical creation

For more than twenty years, Anaïs Crestin has built a singular career between Europe and Latin America. A French concert pianist, she combines recital, chamber music, opera, teaching and the creation of musical projects, between France, Germany, Argentina and many other countries.

In recital, chamber music or with orchestra, she champions both the great works of the repertoire and contemporary creations by sometimes lesser-known composers. Renowned for her interpretations of the French repertoire and Latin American music, she brings out the depth and emotion unique to each work.

Formation

Trained in France and then at the Hochschule für Musik in Detmold, she forged an artistic identity shaped by several European pianistic traditions. The teachings of Jean-Efflam Bavouzet, Anikó Szegedi, Denis Pascal and Jean-Claude Henriot, together with numerous masterclasses, progressively shaped her vision of interpretation.

La recherche du son

The search for sound is the guiding thread of her work. She pays particular attention to timbre, colour, resonance and the piano's capacity to make each phrase sing. Her repertoire favours French and Latin American music, notably Debussy, Fauré, Nadia Boulanger, Poulenc, Guastavino, Ginastera and Piazzolla.

Une carrière internationale

First Prize winner of the Alberto Ginastera International Competition, she performs in France, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Greece, Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia and Ecuador.

Le Teatro Colón de Buenos Aires

At the Teatro Colón, she was successively pianist of the Opera Chorus, pianist of the Philharmonic Orchestra (piano, celesta and organ), and then Maestra Interna (repetiteur). She coaches soloist singers and takes part in opera productions, notably with La Fura dels Baus on Le Grand Macabre by Ligeti.

Collaborations & discographie

A sought-after chamber musician, she collaborates with Estelle Revaz, Ophélie Gaillard, Claude Delangle, Ronald Van Spaendonck, Jonathan Cohler, John Mc Grosso, Sophie Klussmann and Julien Szulman. With orchestra, she performs notably Chopin's Concerto No. 1, the Romanza de Santa Fe by Guastavino and works by Piazzolla.

Her discography includes Inspiration populaire with Estelle Revaz (Solo Musica) and an album with Sebastián Tozzola, nominated for the Gardel Awards. She also contributed to the music of the film Mecánica Popular by Alejandro Agresti. In 2018, she performed Nadia Boulanger's Fantasy for piano and orchestra at its South American premiere, with the official authorisation of the Nadia Boulanger Foundation.
